Two runs in the top of the eighth inning and a seven-spot in the top of the ninth lifted Ashland University's baseball team to a 12-4 win at Concord on Monday (Feb. 26) afternoon – moving the Eagles to 3-0 on the young season.
This is the second consecutive season Ashland has started 3-0 after three games at the Mountain Lions (3-4).

Ben Peltz drove in the eventual game-winning run in the eighth on an RBI double, then junior second baseman
Ian Sanders launched a grand slam in the ninth to cap the victory.

- Junior third baseman Jeremiah Cangelosi had three of AU's 13 hits (3-for-4, run scored), junior first baseman Sam Witt was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, three runs scored and three RBIs, and sophomore right fielder Chris Franks went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.
- The relief win went to junior right-hander Austin Hamilton (1-0), who worked two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.
