In the 2024-25 season-opener on Saturday (Nov. 2) night in St. Joseph, Mo., the No. 5-ranked Ashland University women's basketball team lost 57-49 to Northwest Missouri State on Day 1 of the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic.
The Eagles led 24-22 at halftime, but were outscored 35-25 by the Bobcats in the second half.

- Senior forward Hayley Smith paced Ashland with 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and a steal. She is 18 points away from being 28th player in program history to score 1,000.
- The Eagles also had three more double-digit scorers – senior forward Zoe Miller (12 points), graduate guard Lydia Sweeney (12 points), and senior forward Sarah McKee (10 points, seven rebounds).
