Late Goal Salvages Draw For Men’s Soccer At Saints

The first goal as an Eagle for junior defender Magnus Jensen gave Ashland University's men's soccer team a 1-1 draw at Thomas More on Saturday (Oct. 5) night.
 
After starting 2024 at 1-5, the Eagles (3-5-1 overall, 2-3-1 Great Midwest Athletic Conference) are 2-0-1 in their last three outings. The Saints are 4-5-1, 4-1-1.
 
Jensen's goal, on an assist from senior midfielder Riki Soto, his first of the season, in the 81st minute pulled Ashland even. Thomas More's goal came in the 56th minute, when Daniel Marcano scored on a feed from Flo Meyer.

  • Senior goalkeeper Ty Bowden made two saves on Saturday night.
  • Thomas More out-shot Ashland by a 12-7 count, but the Eagles took nine of the game's 12 corner kicks.
