Following a 1-5 start, Ashland University's men's soccer team has continued its mid-season surge on Saturday (Oct. 19) night at Ohio Dominican, topping the Panthers, 4-0.
The Eagles, thanks to a 5-0-1 stretch over the last six games, improve to 6-5-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Ashland has won four in a row in the series vs. the Panthers.
ODU is 1-10-2, 1-8-1.
The Eagles dented the scoreboard first in the 23
rd minute, when senior midfielder
Oliver Lovell potted his third goal of the season. Senior forward
Pedro Faria had the assist, his second of the campaign.
Then, in the 55
th minute, an unassisted goal from fifth-year forward
Oliver Whaley – his fourth of the fall – made it 2-0. Just 15 seconds later, Faria scored to make it a 3-0 Eagle advantage, as his fourth of the campaign was assisted by senior forward
Yaya Dosso – his first helper in 2024.
Faria's second goal of the game and fifth of the season in the 78
th minute, unassisted, provided the final margin of victory.

- Senior goalkeeper Ty Bowden made five saves in earning his third shutout of the season.
- Ashland and ODU each took 13 shots, and the Panthers had a slim 4-3 lead in corner kicks.
- The Eagles are tied for fifth in the Great Midwest table, as six teams qualify for the league tournament in November.
