The second and final day of the University of Indianapolis Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 9) saw the Ashland University volleyball team go 1-1.

Ashland (6-2) lost to the host Greyhounds, 3-2 (21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 16-14), then swept Central State, 3-0 (25-13, 25-23, 25-11).

NOTABLES
- The match against the Greyhounds saw sophomore outside hitter Tristen Gierhart record a team-high 19 kills and a .548 hitting percentage, while both junior outside hitter Makenna Belcher and freshman outside hitter Henlie Krause each add 13 kills.
- Ashland as a team had 60 assists against Indy, with freshman setter Kylee Urban (26) and junior setter Georgi Moody (23) leading the way. Senior libero Katie Thompson (20 digs) led four Eagles in double-digit digs, a group that included Belcher (15), Moody (12) and Krause (10).
- The victory over the Marauders saw Belcher hit .600 and finish with a team-high 18 kills, while Gierhart hit .444 and added 10 kills. Urban (26 assists) and Moody (12 assists) once again split setting chores, and Krause (12) and Belcher (10) each had double-digit digs.
- Gierhart earned a spot on the all-tournament team.

Ashland will return to the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium on Wednesday (Sept. 13) at 7 p.m. for another non-conference match against Gannon (5-2).
