A tightly-contested Great Midwest Athletic Conference volleyball match on Saturday (Sept. 23) afternoon at the Sherill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium ended with Ashland University taking a 3-1 (27-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-15) victory over Tiffin.

The Eagles are 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the Great Midwest, and the Dragons are 7-5, 2-2.

Ashland's win on Saturday came against the team which knocked it out of the first round of the 2022 Great Midwest Tournament at home.

- Two of the Eagles' outside hitters – junior Makenna Belcher (18 kills, 14 digs) and freshman Henlie Krause (16 kills, 14 digs) – each recorded double-doubles on Saturday, while senior libero Katie Thompson paced the defense with 23 digs.
- Once again splitting the setting duties for AU were freshman Kylee Urban (31 assists) and junior Georgi Moody (13 assists).
- Tiffin's .146 hitting percentage was the second-lowest allowed by Ashland so far in 2023.
- Saturday's match saw 20 tie scores and nine lead changes.
