Eagles Take No. RV Oilers To The Brink, Lose 3-2 At Home

In a match one would expect from two of the top teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, the No. RV Findlay volleyball team out-lasted Ashland University on Friday (Sept. 22) night, 3-2 (25-18, 19-25, 25-27, 25-12, 18-16) at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium.
 
The Eagles are 8-4 overall and 2-1 in the league, while the Oilers are 9-2, 3-1.
 
Friday night's match featured 22 tie scores and 10 lead changes.
 
NOTABLES
  • Junior outside hitter Makenna Belcher led the Eagle charge, finishing with 19 kills, a .267 hitting percentage and 21 digs. Freshman outside hitter Henlie Krause added 10 kills.
  • Freshman Kylee Urban (23 assists) and junior Georgi Moody (13 assists) shared setting duties, and senior libero Katie Thompson (28) joined Belcher with 20-plus digs.
  • The Oilers out-hit the Eagles on Friday night, .257 to .149.
