Beginning a four-game Great Midwest Athletic Conference series at Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex on Sunday (April 2), Ashland University's baseball team extended its winning streak to five games after 9-2 and 4-3 wins over Ohio Dominican.

The Eagles upped their record to 17-7 overall and 8-2 in the conference, while the Panthers are 11-14, 4-6.

Game 1 saw another quality start from sophomore left-hander
Brendan Beaver (3-0), who went eight innings and allowed just five hits, two runs and two walks and struck out nine. Beaver has earned five consecutive quality starts, and so far this season, has a 1.88 earned-run average, a WHIP of 0.86 and 51 strikeouts to just seven walks.

The Eagles gave Beaver more than enough runs with four in the bottom of the third inning, and added two in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the seventh.

In Game 2, Ashland trailed 3-2 going into the bottom of the sixth, but scored twice in the sixth for the final margin of victory on RBI singles from fifth-year right fielder

NOTABLES
- Witt drove in three runs in Sunday's opener, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored. Freshman third baseman Collin Overholt was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBIs, and freshman right fielder Chris Franks was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, run scored and an RBI.
- Junior second baseman Devin Hukill was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the nightcap, and Schroeder and Witt each had two hits and an RBI. Junior righty Zac Common (4-1) got the relief victory after two innings of allowing two hits and a run and striking out one.
