Baseball Splits DH With Panthers, Takes Season Series

Ashland University's baseball team split a Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader with Ohio Dominican on Monday (April 3) at Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex, winning 16-5 in Game 1 and losing 10-1 in Game 2.

The Eagles, who saw their six-game winning streak snapped in the nightcap, are 18-8 overall and 9-3 in the conference after taking three of four from ODU. The Panthers are 12-15, 5-7.

Ashland's win featured 20 hits (its most in a game since 23 last April, also against ODU), and an eight-run bottom of the fifth inning. The big hit in the fifth was a three-run home run from redshirt freshman right fielder Chris Franks.
