Softball Wins Twice At KWC, Extends Win Streak To Four

On Saturday (April 1) afternoon at Kentucky Wesleyan, Ashland University's softball team topped the Panthers twice – 10-0 in five innings and 14-5 – to move its winning streak to four games.

Thanks to their longest winning streak since the end of 2019, the Eagles are 11-17 overall and 5-3 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Ashland, which is 9-5 in its last 14 outings, has almost won as many games in 2023 as it did in all of 2022 (12).

The Panthers are 7-26, 0-6.

In Game 1, the Eagles exploded for a season-high 13 hits and season-high-tying run total. Ashland scored two runs in the top of the first inning, four in the second, one in the third and three in the fourth.

The second game saw Ashland set new 2023 game highs with in runs, as well as 20 hits. The 14 runs are AU's most since 16 against Parkside in 2011, and the 20 hits are the team's most since 22 at Grand Valley State at 2014.

After trailing 4-2 after two, the Eagles posted two runs in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth and four in the seventh for the exclamation point.
