Baseball Falls To Seton Hill Despite Late-Innings Rally

Ashland University's baseball team scored five runs in innings 6-8 on Wednesday (March 8) night in Florida, but ultimately lost to Seton Hill, 9-7.

The Eagles are 7-2, and the Griffins are 6-4.

Trailing 6-2 going into the bottom of the sixth, Ashland scored once in that frame on a solo home run from sophomore shortstop Jeremiah Cangelosi. Three more runs in the bottom of the seventh – RBI singles by sophomore first baseman Sam Witt and sophomore third baseman Cam Scott and an RBI ground-rule double from sophomore designated hitter Ben Peltz – knotted the game at 6.

Seton Hill scored twice in the top of the eighth to re-take the lead, and didn't relinquish it.
