Ashland University's softball team lost twice on Monday (March 6) in Florida – 6-0 to Millersville and 4-3 to Minnesota State-Mankato.
The Eagles (2-10) led 3-0 against Mankato, but the Mavericks scored twice in the bottom of the second and third innings.
NOTABLES
- Against Millersville, sophomore first baseman Lily Rockwell went 2-for-3, while freshman pitcher Karis Weirich threw five shutout innings of relief, allowing five hits and three walks. Freshman Delaney Lis (0-2) started and yielded nine hits, six runs (three earned) and no walks and struck out one in two innings.
- In the game against Mankato, Rockwell was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Senior Kayla Ruperto (1-2) gave up three hits, four runs (two earned) and four walks and struck out one in 4 2/3 innings.
