Eagles Lose Conference Opener At Home To Cavaliers

Ashland University's women's lacrosse team opened 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Sunday (March 26) afternoon at Ferguson Field against Walsh, losing 16-4 after being outscored 11-0 in the second half.
 
The Eagles are 4-6 overall and 0-1 in the Great Midwest, and the Cavaliers are 7-2, 1-0.
 
NOTABLES
  • Senior goalkeeper Jillian Rekulak made nine saves on Sunday. Senior midfielder Natalie Sonntag scored two goals, and senior attacker Cassady Becker assisted on a pair of goals.
  • Walsh out-shot Ashland, 36-18. The Eagles had 16 turnovers to the Cavaliers' eight.
