Eagle Baseball Sweeps Cedarville, Takes Three Of Four In Series

Ashland University's baseball team took both ends of a Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader from Cedarville, 11-0 and 9-1, on Saturday (March 25) at the Athletes In Action Sports Complex in Xenia, Ohio.

The Eagles improve to 14-7 overall and 6-2 in the Great Midwest, and the Yellow Jackets move to 4-19, 1-7.

Game 1 saw a stellar pitching performance from sophomore left-hander Marshall Leishman, and an offense which put up crooked numbers in the top of the third (three runs), fifth (two), sixth (two) and seventh (three) innings.

Leishman (2-1) tossed a seven-inning complete-game three-hitter, striking out nine and walking one.

In Game 2, the Eagles received another quality start, this one from sophomore righty Cam Scott (3-1), who, in his first start as an Eagle, allowed six hits, a run and a walk and whiffed eight in eight innings.
