In a non-conference game on Tuesday (March 21) afternoon at Tomassi Stadium and Donges Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex, Ashland University's baseball team outlasted Mercyhurst, 15-11.
The Eagles (11-6) topped the Lakers (6-5) in a game which featured 26 runs, 29 hits and 14 extra-base knocks.
Ashland put up a seven-spot in the bottom of the fourth and led 8-3, but through 5½ innings, Mercyhurst had a 10-9 advantage. The eventual winning runs came in the bottom of the sixth on sophomore catcher
Ben Peltz's three-run home run.

- Leading Ashland's 15-run, 17-hit barrage were sophomore center fielder Cam Miller, who was 4-for-5 with three RBIs, two runs scored and a double; freshman right fielder Chris Franks (3-for-5, triple, run scored, RBI), fifth-year left fielder Seth Schroeder (2-for-4, two runs scored, RBI), sophomore first baseman Sam Witt (2-for-5, two runs scored, double), sophomore third baseman Cam Scott (2-for-4, three runs, two RBIs, double), Peltz and sophomore second baseman Ian Sanders with three RBIs, and freshman third baseman Collin Overholt with two RBIs.
- Freshman pitcher Seth Witt (1-0) earned his first collegiate win in relief, going two innings and allowing three hits, two runs (one earned) and a walk and striking out two.
