Ashland University's softball team lost two games on Saturday (Feb. 25) on the second day of the Blue Bridge Battle in Evansville, Ind., falling 7-2 to Notre Dame College and 9-4 to Davis & Elkins.

In Saturday's first game against the Falcons, Notre Dame put up runs in the third (one), fourth (two) and fifth (one) innings. Ashland (1-7) scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to cut the deficit to 4-2, as junior second baseman
Hailey Krinn hit a two-run home run.

Notre Dame scored three runs in the seventh to clinch the victory.

Against the Senators, the Eagles led 4-1 thanks to an RBI double by senior designated player
Hailey Struckman in the first inning, a sacrifice fly from senior right fielder
Haylee Frost in the third inning, and RBI singles from Struckman and senior center fielder
Lauren McMillin in the fourth.

Davis & Elkins scored four runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to earn the victory.

NOTABLES
- Krinn was 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and a run scored against NDC.
- Senior Josie Duncan (1-2) went the distance against the Falcons, allowing eight hits, seven runs and three walks and striking out one.
- Struckman was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the second game. Freshman Delaney Lis (0-1) yielded 11 hits, eight runs (six earned) and no walks in four innings.
