Eagle Women’s Lacrosse Opens Season With Rout At Bobcats

In the 2023 season-opener for both teams, Ashland University's women's lacrosse team scored the game's first six goals en route to a 21-6 win at West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday (Feb. 18) afternoon.

THE WRAP-UP
  • Senior attacker Cassady Becker led the way with four goals, as the Eagles narrowly missed tying the program record for team goals in a game (22 – April 28, 2019 vs. Lewis). Freshman attacker Sidney Voss added a hat trick, as a balanced AU offense saw 10 different players scored a goal. Freshman attacker Rachel Crumbacher's first collegiate game resulted in two goals and three assists for five points.
  • Ashland outshot West Virginia Wesleyan, 40-9, as the Eagles also missed out on setting a new single-game team shots record (42 – March 12, 2020 at UC-Colorado Springs).
