Building off a highly-successful 2022 season, Ashland University's STUNT team recorded two wins on the opening day of 2023 on Saturday (Feb. 11) afternoon.

The Eagles went to Ursuline on Saturday, defeating the host Arrows (17-1) and Tiffin (22-6).

"Today was an excellent start to our season," said Ashland head coach
Denise Farnsworth, whose team went 9-3 last spring. "We have areas to keep improving upon, but our ladies really showcased their skills and endurance."
Added Ashland assistant coach
Brandy Marquette, "It was exciting to see our girls perform and execute harder skills we've never competed before. We're looking forward to continuing to improve our skills this season."

THE WRAP-UP
- Against the Arrows, the Eagles led 4-0 after the first quarter, 7-0 at halftime and 11-1 after three periods.
- Sophomore flyer/tumblers Alyssa McLaughlin (27 points) and sophomore Kylie Adams (25 points) were Ashland's top scorers vs. Ursuline.
- The game against the Dragons saw five main scorers for AU – McLaughlin (47 points), junior back/base Ashley Amstutz (44 points), sophomore flyers/tumbler/base Chloe Colvin (43 points), junior flyer/tumbler Lily Boldman and senior base/tumbler Shila Hartzler (43 points).
- Ashland boasted leads of 4-0 after one, 8-2 at half and 12-4 after three against Tiffin.

Ashland will go to Tiffin on Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. to take on the Dragons and Hiram.
