To open 2022 Great Midwest Athletic Conference play, Ashland University's men's soccer team lost at Walsh, 2-0, on Thursday (Sept. 8) night.
The Eagles are 1-2-1 overall and 0-1 in the Great Midwest. The Cavaliers remain undefeated early in the new campaign at 4-0-1, 1-0.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Following a scoreless first half, Walsh scored twice in the second half in the 52nd (Jose Rabadan Villanueva) and 62nd minutes (Austin Stassinis).
- Sophomore goalkeeper Ty Bowden (1-2-1) made four saves on Thursday night.
- The Eagles (four) and Cavaliers (seven) combined for 11 yellow cards, 17 shots, six corner kicks and 14 fouls.
- Walsh has defeated Ashland seven times in a row in the series.

Ashland's men will return to Ferguson Field for another Great Midwest game on Saturday (Sept. 10) at 6:30 p.m. vs. Findlay (3-1, 1-0).
