Ashland University's volleyball team made it 5-for-5 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference sweeps so far in 2022, as the Eagles won 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-14) at Ursuline on Saturday (Sept. 17).

Running its overall win streak to six matches, Ashland, leading the conference's South Division and receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll, improves to 9-5 overall and 5-0 in the Great Midwest, while the Arrows are 2-10, 0-5.

Ashland's defense kept Ursuline to a .019 hitting percentage – the fifth consecutive match where the Eagles held an opponent to lesser than .150.

WHAT HAPPENED
- After winning the first set, the Eagles trailed 11-4 in set No. 2 prior to taking a timeout. Ashland kept working back into the set, eventually tying it at 14-all. The Eagles would go up 19-18 before finishing off the set and going ahead 2-0 in the match.

THE WRAP-UP
- The defense was paced by junior libero Katie Thompson (12 digs) and fifth-year outside hitter Erin Krupar (10 digs), while fifth-year setter Zoey Peck and senior middle blocker Anna Krikke each had four block assists.
- Peck collected 26 assists for an AU offense which finished hitting .221.
