Following a 16-1 loss in Game 1 on Friday (May 6), Ashland University's baseball team came back for a split of the doubleheader by winning 2-1 in eight innings in the second game at Kentucky Wesleyan.

The Eagles are 30-16 overall and 21-9 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with two regular-season games to play, and the Panthers are 23-25, 19-11.

WHAT HAPPENED
- In the nightcap, after the two teams were tied at 1 through seven innings, senior center fielder Sebastian Fabik came through with a two-out RBI single for the game-winning run.
- Senior right-hander Joel Ciccarelli (6-0) got two outs for the win out of the bullpen, and senior closer Perry Bewley earned save No. 8 of the season with a scoreless eighth. Yet another senior, shortstop Austin Eifrid, was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
