In what were the final two games the program would play at Brookside Park, Ashland University's softball team lost 10-0 and 9-4 to Trevecca Nazarene on Wednesday (April 27) afternoon.

The Eagles are 9-22 overall and 3-15 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, while the Trojans are 26-15, 10-8.

Ashland College/University softball has played its home games at Brookside since the program's inception in 1967. Starting in the 2023 season, the Eagles' home will be the new field at the Archer Ballpark Complex.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Trevecca Nazarene went ahead in Game 1 with a five-spot in the top of the second inning. The Trojans added two runs in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth for the final margin of victory.
- In the second game, Trevecca scored twice in each of the first two frames, then four in the third. Ashland posted two runs in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI ground out by senior center fielder Jamie Rutherford and a solo home run from junior third baseman Hailey Struckman.
- The bottom of the fifth saw the Eagles close the gap to 8-4 thanks to an RBI grounder from senior catcher Gabie Krueger and an RBI single from freshman first baseman Mollie Pentz. Trevecca, however, finished the scoring with a run in the seventh.
- Pentz was 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored and an RBI.
