For the second day in a row, Ashland University's baseball team split a Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader at Ohio Dominican, winning 7-3 and losing 8-6 on Sunday (April 24).

The Eagles are 25-14 overall and 16-8 in the conference, and remain in second place in the Great Midwest standings. The Panthers are 15-25, 8-16.

WHAT HAPPENED
- In the seven-inning opener, all 10 runs were scored in the first 2½ innings. The big blast for the Eagles came in the top of the second on senior shortstop Austin Eifrid's grand slam.
- Sophomore right-hander Justin Dyksma (5-2) earned the victory after allowing four hits, three runs (two earned) and five walks and striking out four in six innings. Freshman second baseman Ian Sanders and senior right fielder Dillan Smith each had two of AU's 10 hits.
- In Game 2, the Eagles knotted the game in the fourth (4-4) and seventh (6-6) innings, but ODU scored twice in the bottom of the seventh for the victory.
- Sophomore third baseman Devin Hukill had a home run and three RBIs, senior center fielder Sebastian Fabik drove in two runs, senior designated hitter Micah Allen and Sanders each had two hits.
- Adam Schomburg (2-2), a sophomore lefty, took the loss in relief after yielding two hits, two runs and three walks and striking out two in 2 2/3 frames.
