WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland jumped out to a 4-0 lead through the first two innings, but Mercyhurst put up crooked numbers in the top of the third (three), fifth (two), sixth (two) and seventh (two) en route to the victory.
- Pacing the Eagles' 10-hit output were freshman second baseman Ian Sanders, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs; senior left fielder Seth Schroeder, who was 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored; and senior designated hitter Brady Cottom, who drove in two runs.
- Freshman right-hander Austin Hamilton (0-1) took the loss in relief, allowing a hit, two runs (one earned) and two walks and striking out one in one inning.
