Tennis Teams Lose At Hillsdale To Open Great Midwest Play

On Saturday (March 19) in Hillsdale, Mich., Ashland University's tennis teams opened Great Midwest Athletic Conference play against the Chargers.
 
The Eagle men (3-8 overall, 0-1 Great Midwest) lost a 5-2 decision, while the Eagle women (2-5, 0-1) lost by a 6-1 count.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • The men's match saw Ashland get singles wins from freshman Fabian Bussard at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0) and sophomore Omar Prince at No. 6 (6-3, 3-6, 10-8). The Chargers earned the doubles point, but the AU No. 3 tandem of freshman William Rassat and senior Tche Kun Teng won, 6-3.
  • In the women's match, the Eagles' lone victory came from senior Lydia Bice at No. 6 singles, 6-9, 6-2 (9-11).
