Ashland University's baseball team kept raking on Sunday (Feb. 27), finishing the Frank Loria Invitational in Salem, W.Va., with a 12-7 win over Mansfield to start the 2022 season at 4-0.

The Eagles scored double-digit runs in all four games to start the new campaign, and on Sunday, collected 17 hits.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The pattern of scoring multiple runs in innings over the weekend continued on Sunday, as Ashland scored three in the first, three in the fifth and four in the ninth.
- Senior designated hitter Tim Zeller finished off a hot weekend by going 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored, and senior right fielder Dillan Smith was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a pair of runs scored.
- Collecting two hits each were senior shortstop Austin Eifrid and freshman center fielder Cam Miller, while senior first baseman Micah Allen drove in a pair of runs.
- Sophomore right fielder Josh Wolfe tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory. Wolfe allowed two hits and a walk and struck out one.
