On Saturday (Feb. 12) at the Aspen Racquet Club in nearby Wooster, Ohio, Ashland University's men's and women's tennis teams lost matches to future Great Midwest Athletic Conference rival Northwood.
The Eagle men (2-2) lost 5-2, and the Eagle women (1-1) lost 6-1.
WHAT HAPPENED
- In the men's match, Ashland victories were earned in singles by freshman William Rassat at No. 2 (2-6, 6-1, 6-2) and senior Jordan Phelps at No. 3 (7-6 (7-2), 6-4). AU's lone doubles victory came from the No. 1 pair of senior Stuart Brdicka and Phelps (7-6 (7-5)).
- The women's match saw freshman Claudia Adcock take a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 4 singles.
UP NEXT
The Eagle women will play on Saturday (Feb. 19) at Dayton, and the AU men will go to Fairmont State on Feb. 20.
