Ashland University fifth-year center back
Rylie Howman continues to pile up postseason honors.
On Thursday (Dec. 15) afternoon, Howman was announced as a 2022 United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division II Women's Scholar All-American second-teamer. This comes on the heels of being named Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) NCAA Division II/NAIA All-Ohio on Tuesday (Dec. 13), and previously picking up first-team USC All-Midwest Region, first-team Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) all-region, Great Midwest Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference honors.
This fall, Howman paced a defensive effort which saw Ashland yield just 16 goals in 21 goals and record 11 shutouts, while scoring a goal herself.
Howman is the fifth player in program history to earn a USC Women's Scholar All-American citation.
Ashland women's soccer ended the 2022 season at 15-3-3 overall and 11-1-2 in the Great Midwest, winning the conference tournament on the road. The Eagles also played in their fourth consecutive NCAA Division II postseason tournament.
