Men’s, Women’s Tennis End Fall With 7-0 Sweeps

Both of Ashland University's tennis teams ended the fall portion of the 2022-23 season strong, as the Eagle men and women each took 7-0 decisions from St. Francis (Ind.) on Saturday (Oct. 15).
 
Ashland's women end the fall at 3-0, the AU men at 2-0.
 
WHAT HAPPENED

• The Eagle men earned the doubles point by sweeping all three duals – freshmen William Rassat and Tomas Paskauskas 6-1 at No. 1, sophomore Fabian Bussard and freshman Benedikt Weinboerner 6-2 at No. 2, and sophomore Omar Prince and freshman Gabriel Seminario 6-3 at No. 3.
• In singles, the AU victors were Rassat at No. 1 (6-4, 6-3), Bussard at No. 2 (6-0, 6-2), Prince at No. 3 (6-1, 6-0), Pauskauskas at No. 4 (6-2, 6-0), Seminario at No. 5 (6-1, 6-2) and Weinboerner at No. 6 (6-1, 6-0).
• On the women's side, the Eagles won the two contested doubles matches to earn that point – the No. 1 duo of freshman Ana Penteado and sophomore Kortney Reed (6-0) and the No. 2 tandem of sophomore Claudia Adcock and freshman Anna Corbel (6-1).
• Women's singles winners for AU were Penteado at No. 1 (6-0, 6-0), Adcock at No. 2 (6-1, 6-1), Corbel at No. 3 (6-3, 6-0), freshman Alley Stoehr at No. 4 (6-2, 6-0), sophomore Josie Georges at No. 5 (6-2, 6-0) and Reed at No. 6 (forfeit).
