Ashland University's football team ended the 2021 season at .500 following a 17-0 blanking at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday (Nov. 13) afternoon.

It was the Eagles' (5-5 overall, 4-3 Great Midwest Athletic Conference) first shutout since Oct. 14, 2017 – a 48-0 Homecoming decision over Michigan Tech. The win also keeps Ashland's streak of consecutive .500 or better finishes intact, now at 14 seasons in a row (2007-19 and 2021).

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Eagles got on the board with 6:28 left in the first quarter on a 20-yard touchdown run by freshman quarterback Cameron Blair, making his second consecutive start. Junior kicker Storm Elsesser hit a 41-yard field goal in the second quarter to lift the Eagles to a 10-0 advantage.
- Ashland completed the day's scoring with 1:30 left in the third period when sophomore tailback Eli Potts went into the end zone on a 10-yard run.
- The Eagle defense kept the Panthers to eight first downs and 136 total yards of offense. Sophomore linebacker Jackson Myers had 10 total tackles (six solo), and the AU defensive unit collected two sacks, three pass breakups and seven tackles for loss.
