Ashland University's women's soccer team nearly waited until the last minute to record a victory at Cedarville on Saturday (Oct. 9) night.

McKinley Mendenhall's tally in the 89
th minute lifted the Eagles to a 1-0 decision over the Yellow Jackets.
Ashland, thanks to five consecutive victories, is alone atop the Great Midwest Athletic Conference table at 8-1-2 overall and 7-0-1 in the league, while Cedarville is 6-4-1, 6-2-0.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Mendenhall's fifth goal of her rookie campaign came with just 1:04 to play in regulation. The assists went to a pair of senior midfielders – Hannah Mueller (her third of the season) and Bri Fourman (her second of the fall).
- Junior goalkeeper Bri Rogers earned her sixth clean sheet of the season, making three saves in improving her record to 8-0-1, and dropping her goals-against average to 0.31.
- Ashland had a slim 10-9 advantage in shots, and took five of the game's seven corner kicks.
UP NEXT
Ashland will stay in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Thursday (Oct. 9) at 7 p.m. vs. Kentucky Wesleyan (3-6, 0-5) at Ferguson Field.
