On the first day of the Midwest Region Crossover on Friday (Oct. 15) in Hammond, Ind., Ashland University's volleyball team won a pair of matches to improve to 11-9 and extend its winning streak to three.

WHAT HAPPENED VS. WAYNE STATE
- The 3-1 (17-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-22) victory was highlighted by big totals from senior outside hitter Erin Krupar (23 kills and a .293 hitting percentage), senior setter Zoey Peck (44 assists and seven kills) and sophomore libero Katie Thompson (25 digs).
- Freshman outside hitter Sage Kissman added 11 kills, while junior defensive specialist Stephanie Smith chipped in with 16 digs.
- Ashland hit at a .260 clip in the match, and at a .297 clip in the final three sets.

WHAT HAPPENED VS. SOUTHERN INDIANA
- Another 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24) decision featured 21 kills and 12 digs from Krupar, and 45 assists, 15 digs and four kills from Peck.
- A pair of freshmen – right-side hitter GraceAnn Hartman (15) and Kissman (12) – each added double-digit kills, as Hartman hit .440 in the victory.
- Defensively, Peck and Krupar were two of four Eagles in double-digits in digs, along with Smith (16) and Thompson (14).
- The match had 29 tie scores and 10 lead changes.
