Â
"We didn't play particularly well today, to be honest," noted Ashland head coach

WHAT HAPPENED
- Less than a minute in, the Eagles picked up where they left off last week in a 9-1 victory at KWC, scoring when senior forward Brandon Davidson potted his fifth goal of the season on a feed from senior forward Justin Libertowski, his third assist of the fall. Libertowski, the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, then made it 2-0 in the second minute with his seventh goal of the campaign, on the eighth assist of the fall from sophomore midfielder Rafael Pereira.
- The Panthers scored in the 11th minute when Jake Peveler and Santiago Henrich found Julian Gonzalez to make it a 2-1 contest. The scoreboard didn't change for the remainder of the first half, as the Eagles had a 10-3 shots advantage in the first 45 minutes.
- Libertowski scored his second goal of the game and eighth of the season on a rebound of his own shot in the 53rd minute to up the Eagle lead to 3-1.
- "Last four games, everything has started to click," said Libertowski. "I've been receiving some great service. I think that's been the biggest difference. It's all just finally coming together."
- Ashland had a final 20-8 shots advantage. Freshman goalkeeper Ty Bowden is 2-0 after recording six saves.
- "We knew he was going to be very good," Roberts said.

UP NEXT
Ashland will go back on the road on Saturday (Oct. 16) at 7:30 p.m. to take on Cedarville.
Â
"Now, it steps up," Roberts said. "It changes. We've got to get some more wins against tougher competition."
Â
Said Libertowski, "I feel very confident about it. We've been here before, we've been in worse situations. I think a lot of the kids were worried at first, but we have a lot of seniors, we've all been here before."
