Eagles Compete In Three Meets In Three States

Ashland University's outdoor track and field teams were split up between meets in Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Ohio on Saturday (April 13), and the results for the No. 7-ranked men and the No. 12-ranked women were a pair of new provisional marks for NCAA Division II nationals.

The third and final day of the Tennessee Relays saw senior Myles Pringle turn in a new provisional mark in the men's high jump, placing fourth at 2.05 meters/6-feet-8¾. At the Walsh Invitational, redshirt freshman Elizabeth Weimer won the women's shot put with a new provo distance of 13.89 meters/45-feet-7.

Also at Walsh, sophomore Jared Ryder won the men's triple jump (14.11 meters/46-feet-3½), and sophomore Connor Ingram finished first in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:58.83). Runner-up placements were earned by redshirt freshman Carrol Pauley in the women's hammer throw (50.61 meters/166-feet-0) and sophomore David Amstutz in the men's discus throw (46.59 meters/152-feet-10).

Taking thirds at Walsh were junior Paula Wollenslegel in the women's high jump (1.63 meters/5-feet-4¼), freshman Storm Elsesser in the men's high jump (1.86 meters/6-feet-1¼) and junior Duvan Bautista-Catalan in the men's 3,000 steeplechase (10:07.48).

Late Saturday night, Weimer placed second in the women's discus throw (41.17 meters/135-feet-1), and redshirt freshman Makayla Pop was third (40.58 meters/133-feet-1).

At the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic, sophomore Ian Johnson placed third in the men's 1,500 run in 3:54.93.

The AU outdoor track and field weekend will conclude on Sunday (April 14), with Eagle distance runners competing in the second and final day of the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.
