Eagle Men, Women Finish Last Chance Week At GVSU

Ashland University's nationally-ranked men's and women's outdoor track and field teams finished last chance week on Sunday (May 10) at the Grand Valley State Last Day Meet.
 
The Eagle men's 4x100-meter relay quartet of sophomore Trinity Keith, junior Dominick Brister, senior Joe Wahl and sophomore Roosevelt Zeigler turned in an improved provisional time toward nationals by winning in 40.03 seconds.
 
Sophomores Brianna Chenevey and Olivia Saylor, junior Jordan Rosales and senior Jade Avance combined to win the women's 4x400 relay with an improved provo of 3:43.23.
 
In the women's 4x100 relay, sophomore Medgine Wojton, Chenevey, freshman Alexis Wims and junior Hailey Rios won in 45.79 seconds. The men's 110 hurdles saw freshman Jon Lutz win in 14.11 seconds, and sophomore Ty Allen place third in 14.25 seconds.
 
Senior Hope Sievert won the women's 800 run in 2:10.79, and junior Colton Thress took the men's 800 run in 1:51.87.
 
The 2026 NCAA Division II Championships qualifiers will be announced in Tuesday (May 12). Those championships will be in Emporia, Kan., on May 21-23.
