Box Score Kelsey McKernan is on fire.
The Ashland University women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory on Tuesday (Sept. 29) at Clarion University, thanks to a McKernan goal in the 26th minute.
McKernan's goal was her fifth of the season, and it was her third straight game with a tally for the Eagles.
AU stands at 8-0-0 and has won 12 consecutive regular-season games dating back to last season, the program's longest streak since 2004. The Eagles came into Tuesday as one of only eight NCAA Division II schools that have not lost or tied a game this season.
Tuesday's game, which was played in sloppy conditions, didn't faze sophomore goalie Courtney Barker, who had her second shutout of the season. She recorded two saves on the afternoon and improved her record to 8-0 this season.
Ashland outshot Clarion overall, 17-8, and 5-2 on goal.
The Golden Eagles fall to 2-6-1 after Tuesday's non-conference matchup.
Ashland will be back on the road on Sunday at Tiffin University. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup is slated for a noon start.
