Box Score The Ashland women's soccer team finished up its road trip at Northwood University on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles dominated, scoring three goals and came away with the victory, 3-1 against the Timberwolves.
Opponents are finding out very quickly, the game plan needs to be to stop
Morgan Bittengle. The freshman from Pickerington North high school is showing why she was earned first team all-state laurels a season ago. Sunday afternoon, Bittengle scored her fifth and sixth goals of the season against the Timberwolves.
In the 19th minute, Bittengle redirected a
Kelsey Dropsey pass and deposited it in the goal to put the Eagles up 1-0. In the 69th minute, she took a
Kelsey McKernan cross from six yards out and punched it in for a 3-1 advantage. Bittengle now ranks fourth in the GLIAC in goals scored.
Junior,
Krista Lewis, also scored her second goal of the year when she beat the keeper to find net in the 58th minute. Lewis and Bittengle are the only Eagles to have multiple goals scored on the year.
The win puts the Eagles back over the .500 mark at 5-4-0, 2-3-0 in the GLIAC. Northwood falls to 1-7-1, 0-5-0 in the GLIAC.
The Eagles return to Ferguson Field on Friday, October 10th against the Tiffin Dragons. The match will start at 3 pm.
