Eagles Wrap Up Road Trip With Win At Northwood

The AU women's soccer team enjoyed a successful weekend, getting two wins in a venue some folks in Michigan have dubbed "The Twin Cities."

Friday, AU won at Saginaw Valley State, 4-2. Sunday, the Eagles turned back Northwood, 2-0 in Midland, Mich.

The Eagles are 3-0-1 in their last four matches. AU has scored 12 goals in that stretch.

Ashland is 4-3-2, 3-2-1 in the conference. The Timberwolves are 3-4-1 and 3-3 in league action.

Sunday, Krista Lewis gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead with her fifth goal of the year at 15:25. The assist on the play went to Allison Richards.

The Eagles made that lead stand up until the 84:47 mark when Maddy Smith scored her third goal of the weekend. The assist on the play went to Kelsey Dropsey.

Shots were difficult to come by for both teams. AU led in that category, 8-7.

Rebecca Plescia got the win in goal. She had two saves.

The Eagles will play at Malone next Friday (Oct. 11, 1 p.m.).
