2010: Benton was one of Ashland’s top offensive producers in her junior season… she was named to the All-GLIAC first team and was seventh in the league with a .330 hitting percentage… she was third on the team with 282 kills and third in total blocks with 46... Benton finished the season with double-digit kill totals in 10 of her last 12 matches… she had 15 double-digit kill totals for the season… on Oct. 16 had a season-high 17 kills against Southern Indiana… in the previous match, Benton registered a season-high six block assists against Missouri S&T.

2009: Anesia Benton was a spark for the Eagles in her sophomore season, providing a power swing on the left side. She played in 61 sets and finished her second year with 72 kills.

2008: Benton asserted herself into the starting line-up as a freshman, finishing second on the team in kills with 263. She recorded her first double-digit kill total in the second match of the season against Saint Leo. She was named the Nanook Classic MVP after posting kill totals of 11, 19 and 18 during the tournament. During her first collegiate year she had 14 matches with double-digit kills and had her career high of 19 at the Nanook Classic.

High School: Benton had an extremely productive senior year for the Spartans…she was named District 8 Division I player of the year last season…Benton was two-time first-team all-district (2006, 2007)…she was also a two-time first team Greater Buckeye Conference selection…Benton also was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Benton is the daughter of Luther Benton and Robin Whiteside. She is a criminal justice major.
