2008: Spannbauer became the Eagles’ first All-America selection since Elliot Bradbrook in 2005 in his junior season. He scored 16 goals and added one assist, finishing with 33 points – the fourth-highest total in program history. His 16 goals are the second-most all-time in program history. Spannbauer had a pair of hat tricks on the season, including one in the season opener in a 4-3 win over Missouri S&T. He led the Eagles to the first round of the NCAA Playoffs and a top-five national ranking during the season. The Eagles finished with a school-record 15 victories.

2007: The striker scored one goal in 13 games (nine starts) for the Eagles in his sophomore season. It came as converted penalty kick in a 2-1 loss against Malone on Aug. 29 and was the Eagles’ first goal of the season.

2006: Spannbauer played in 14 games, making five starts, as a freshman. He scored his first collegiate goal against Gannon on Sept. 13 – an overtime game-winner to give the Eagles their first win of the season. It was his lone goal of his freshman campaign.

High School: Spannbauer was a standout in two sports at Firestone High School. A three-time letterwinner in soccer, he earned first team all-city honors and second team all-district laurels while leading the Falcons to three city championships. He tallied 20 goals and 11 assists as a senior. Spannbauer, who owns personal best times of 51.8 seconds in the 400 and 2:01 in the 800, has won three first team all-city notations. He is the son of Raymond and Susan Spannbauer.
