High School/Junior College: Houck was a two-year letterwinner at Northrop High School under coach Rob Milledge. He was named first-team all-conference in his junior and senior seasons at the school. He hit .420 in his junior season and homered 10 times in his senior year. Houck is a transfer from Glen Oaks Community College where he was named to the All-MJCAA second team as a sophomore.


Personal: He is the son of Gerry and Maureen Houck. His birthday is Dec. 21, 1989. Houck is majoring in sport management.
