2013-14: Honigford was a starter for the majority of the season, getting the nod in 20 of 26 games played...averaged 5.9 points, 16.2 minutes and 3.1 rebounds per game...shot 48.3 percent from the field and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line...scored a career-high 20 points against Northern Michigan (Jan. 9)...pulled down a career-best nine rebounds against Ohio Christian (Dec. 21)...earned a spot on the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball All-Academic Excellence Team.
2012-13: Honigford was one of the first to be called off the bench during his sophomore campaign thanks to his outside shooting and size on the interior...played in all 25 games and started at forward three times...finished the season fourth in the GLIAC in three-point field goal percentage (.455)...had a great start to the season as he recorded season highs in just the second game of the season against Urbana, as he scored 17 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field and connected on four triples...had a pair of 14-point games against Oberlin and Ohio Dominican and pitched in 13 against Ohio Christian...averaged 7.8 ppg. at home...twice tied his career high with seven rebounds against Ohio Christian and Malone and set a new career-high with five steals against Oberlin.
2011-12: Injuries curtailed Hongiford's playing time, limiting him to five starts and 16 games...when healthy, he made an impact offensively and defensively...scored in double digits in each of the first three games of the season...did not play after Jan. 26...scored a season-high 19 points at Lock Haven (Nov. 14)...had 11 points against Lourdes (Nov.. 19)...grabbed a season-high seven rebounds against Point Park (Nov. 23)...had a six-rebound game against Saginaw Valley State (Nov. 19)...shot 80.6 percent from the free throw line...was 9-for-10 at the line against Lock Haven.
High School: Honigford prepped at Garaway High School in the Inter Valley Conference… he was a two-time All-Ohio first team performer and Eastern District Player of the Year… he was also All-Ohio special mention his sophomore season… he entered his senior season ranked 10th in GHS history with 969 career points… his senior year, he averaged 16.8 points per game for the Pirates, who advanced to the state’s final 16… Honigford first dunked in a game in eighth grade.
Personal: Honigford was born May 27, 1992… is the son of Jim and Celeste Honigford, and has two brothers and one sister… his father, Jim, was a walk-on basketball player at Ohio State…is majoring in biology with the ambition of becoming a veterinarian.
