Biography

2012-13: When it comes to staying healthy, Evans has been as consistent as the sun rising in the morning, playing in 75 of 78 games in his career...accepted his role as a veteran leader and played very well in his third season, playing in all 25 games, making 23 starts, while maintaining a steady balance of scoring both inside the lane and beyond the three-point line...finished second on the team in scoring (9.7 ppg.) and field goals made (81)...ended the season third on the team in triples, converting a career-high 32...the season's best performance came against Tiffin on Feb. 23, when he scored a team-high 18 points and went 5-for-7 (.714) from the field...Evans and frontcourt mate, Evan Yates combined to be one of the most efficient rebounding duos in the conference, as Evans grabbed 153 rebounds and finished 11th in the GLIAC, averaging 6.1 rpg....between Jan. 5 and Jan. 24, averaged 9.0 per game and grabbed a season-high 11 in the season finale against Lake Erie...finished the year with two double-doubles, 11 games with at least seven rebounds and three with 10 or more...twice during the seaso, he recorded four assists, tying his career high.

2011-12: Evans ended the year third on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg.) and second in rebounding (6.2 rpg.)...was second on the team in blocked shots (14) and third in steals (22) and assists (52)...Evans was the team leader in three-point field goal percentage (.443)...was second on the team in field goal percentage (.492)...Evans was fourth in the GLIAC in three-point field goal percentage and 12th in rebounds per game...reached double figures in scoring 13 times...fired in a career-high 25 points at home against Ohio Dominican (Jan. 14)...was 9-for-11 from the field, 2-for-3 from the free throw line and 5-of-6 from three-point range against ODU...posted the first double-double of his career at Ohio Dominican (Feb. 2) when he had 13 points and 13 rebounds. That rebound total is a career high...had eight or more rebounds in a game seven times...reached his career high of four assists six times...had a season-high three steals twice...started 21 times...was named to the All-GLIAC Academic Team (3.00-3.49 GPA) as an accounting major.

2010-11: Evans was a major factor, especially on the defensive end, as a true freshman, playing in all 26 games and making 15 starts… he averaged 3.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game… Evans was third on the team in total rebounds (82)… he made his first career start at No. 1 Findlay (Jan. 5) and scored his season-high 11 points, helping AU build a 40-30 halftime lead at Croy Gymnasium before the Eagles stumbled in the second half… he started every game after that until the finale against Lake Erie… Evans scored 10 points, including two three-pointers, at Michigan Tech (Feb. 17)… he set a season high in rebounds with nine at Urbana (Jan. 8) and also matched a season high with four assists to go with seven points.

High School: Scored over 1,000 points in his prep career… scored 31 points in a game twice in his career… recorded a game high of 16 rebounds… was first team all-region and named to the region’s all-tournament team… named first team all-city and third team all-state… also played for the 17U Shining Stars AAU state championship team… lettered four times in basketball and two times in baseball.

Personal: Evans is the son of Bill and Sara Evans… is an accounting major with a minor in sports management.
