A second-half goal and the second shutout of the young 2026 season were the winning combination for the No. 11-ranked Ashland University women's soccer team on Saturday (Sept. 5) night in Florida.
 
Playing their second game in three days on the southern trip, the Eagles topped No. RV Rollins, 1-0, to improve to 2-1-1 this season. The Tars took their first loss of the campaign, moving to 3-1.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Izzy Ezzone and the AU defense combined for the clean sheet on Saturday night. Ezzone made two saves.
 
Following a scoreless first half in which Ashland took six of nine shots and took four of five corner kicks, the Eagles' offensive persistence eventually resulted in a 1-0 lead when senior midfielder Ella Schneider scored her second goal of the fall in the 64^th minute on an assist from freshman forward Aubrey Krischano.
 
Schneider leads AU in goals so far this season, and Krischano, with her second helper, leads the team in that category.
 
Ashland out-shot the Tars by an 11-6 count, and took seven of the contest's 10 corner kicks.
 
The Eagles are 2-1 all-time vs. Rollins.
 
Ashland will open 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference play at 1 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 10) at Tiffin.
