Ashland University's volleyball team will play three matches at the 2026 Crimson Hawk Classic on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 4-5), and the first of those was a 3-1 (24-26, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21) loss to host Indiana (Pa.) on Friday.
 
The Eagles' first loss of the young season puts them at 3-1, while IUP is 4-3.
 
Ashland rallied with four consecutive points to win the opening set on Friday, but the Crimson Hawks came back to sweep the final three sets.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Jenna Shedden, the reigning Great Midwest Athletic Conference East Division Athlete of the Week, recorded a team-high 12 kills to go with 10 digs. Once again splitting the setting duties were seniors Kylee Urban (19 assists) and Marin Dixon (13).
 
Junior middle blocker Myia Etzler had eight of Ashland's 28 block assists – the most for the team in a single match since 30 vs. Flagler on Sept. 11, 2025.
 
Senior libero Abbey Queen picked up a team-high 16 digs, and Urban added 11.
 
The Eagles will conclude play at the Crimson Hawk Classic on Saturday (Sept. 5) at 11 a.m. vs. Daemen and at 3 p.m. against West Liberty.
