The No. 11-ranked Ashland University women's soccer team moved into first place alone in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference table following a 4-0 win at Northwood on Saturday (Sept. 19) night.
 
A fifth consecutive win – all by shutout – moves the Eagles to 6-1-1 overall and 4-0 in the Great Midwest. The Timberwolves are 4-4, 3-1.
 
Ashland's first goal of the night was a Northwood own goal in the 11^th minute.
 
Then, there was a second-half barrage of tallies – three Eagle goals in a little more than six minutes:

• Sophomore midfielder Karleigh Cress potted an unassisted goal in the 63^rd minute.
• In the 69th minute, senior midfielder Ella Schneider scored on a feed from freshman defender Addi Burkemper.
• Then, 40 seconds later, freshman forward Aubrey Krischano scored on an assist from fellow rookie forward Brooke Benne.

Sophomore goalkeeper Izzy Ezzone made one save for her fourth individual clean sheet of the season.
 
Ashland took 22 of the game's 23 shots, and six of the contest's seven corner kicks.
 
The Eagles will play another road Great Midwest game on Thursday (Sept. 24) at 7 p.m. at Lake Erie (2-3-3, 1-2-1).
