The third and final round of Ball State's Brittany Kelly Classic at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Ind., was played on Tuesday (Sept. 15), and Ashland University's women's golf team came away from the two-day, 14-team event finishing in a tie for fifth place.
Thanks to a third-round 299, the Eagles ended the NCAA Division I-heavy tourney at 310-301-299—910, the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history. The host Cardinals won at 294-283-281—858, Campbell was second at 299-295-292—886, and Morehead State was third at 297-289-304—890.
Sophomore
Zoe Mort and freshman
Kinsley Brown each wrapped up the event in a tie for 15
th individually. Mort was 76-76-72—224 and compiled six birdies, while Brown finished at 76-71-77—224 with eight birdies – including three straight on Tuesday on holes No. 7-9.
Both Mort and Brown tied for ninth place for the best individual 54-hole scores in program history, Brown had the best 54-hole debut in program history, and she tied the best 54-hole score in program history by a freshman.

th (79-75-73—227, one eagle, three birdies), sophomore
Anna Machamer tied for 51
st (79-81-77—237, five birdies) and junior
Sammi Miller tied for 73
rd (87-79-78—244, two birdies) to round out the AU team showing.
Playing as an individual was junior
McKenzie Kelso, who tied for 85
th (83-86-83—252, one birdie).
