The Ashland University men's golf team has punched its ticket to the medal round.
On Tuesday, April 21, the Eagles earned an opportunity to compete in the medal round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's golf championships, placing second through three rounds. The sole team ahead of Ashland is the University of Findlay Oilers, who have a +7 and a stroke total of 859.
The Eagles finished their three rounds with a +25 and a stroke count of 877.
Individually, the Eagles received an even mark from Mark Pillar, a +2 from Shaun Mazzalupi, a +3 from Michael Fickle, a +4 from Charlie Drapp and lastly, a +6 from Carter Mischler. Overall, through all three rounds, Pillar finished third individually, recording the Eagles' best performance.
Ashland and Findlay will compete on Wednesday, April 22, for the top spot in the championships.
