On Sunday, April 12, the Ashland University softball team continued their strong campaign with a dominant road victory against Lake Erie in Painesville, Ohio.
They won game one 11-3 and game two 6-0.
The highlight of the week, though, was Danielle Robbins recording her 200th career hit. Robbins, who ranks in the top ten nationally in batting average, added five hits, four sacrifice bunts, one sacrifice fly and six stolen bases.
In their opener, the Eagles wasted no time as they scored in four of the five innings displaying their powerful offensive performance.
Offensive highlights were led by Raelyn Koesters, Sophia Martin and Delaney Maynard as they all hit home runs, aiding the Eagles to 16 total hits.
In the circle, Delaney Lis picked up the win as she tossed a complete game while allowing three runs and struck out two.
In game two, the Eagles continued the momentum with Maynard having the strongest overall performance. She found three hits, three runs and one RBI.
Kate Kujawski had major offensive impact for the Eagles as she recorded three hits and two RBI.
The Eagles move to 23-12 overall and 12-3 in conference play.
They'll next compete in a doubleheader against the Malone University Pioneers on Wednesday, April 15 at Deb Miller Field at the Archer Ballpark Complex beginning at 2:00 p.m. EST.
