Ashland University senior forward
Maceo Williams is closing one of the best careers in Eagle men's basketball history strong – and that has been noticed.
As announced on Sunday (Feb. 1) afternoon, Williams is on the Trevor Hudgins Award Top 25 Watch List, sponsored by Northwest Missouri State University. The award is presented annually to a senior playing in either NCAA Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA Division I & II, and NCCAA Division I & II. It goes to the player who has had the finest overall four-year career within Small College Basketball.
In 2025-26, Williams is averaging 19.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game, and is shooting 60.3 percent from the field. In January alone, he went for 20.7 points and 6.1 boards per game, while making 63.3 percent from the floor and 7-of-14 from 3-point range.
For his Eagle career, Williams, the 2024-25 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year, is fourth on Ashland's all-time scoring list with 1,762 career points, and with 789 career rebounds, also is fourth on that AU list.
Ashland is 15-6 overall and 9-4 in the Great Midwest, and its next game will be Faith Night on Thursday (Feb. 5) at 7:30 p.m. at the Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium vs. Thomas More (10-10, 4-9).
